As of July 22nd the Roswell Airport has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 21 days this month, and 29 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 11th with a reading of 110ºF

As of July 22nd the Artesia Airport has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 17 days this month, and 25 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 11th,13th, and 14th with a reading of 108ºF

As of July 22nd the Artesia Climate Co-Op Station has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 19 days this month, and 29 times so far this summer. Preliminary reports indicate that they have reached or exceeded 100ºF for the past 19 days in a row, the most days in a row at over 100ºF for southeastern New Mexico. Their highest temp occurred on the 11th, with a reading of 109ºF

As of July 22nd the Carlsbad Airport has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 21 days this month, and 29 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 11th, and 14th with a reading of 110ºF.




As of July 22nd the Carlsbad Climate Co-Op Station has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 19 days this month, and 29 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 14th, and 15th with a reading of 110ºF.

As of July 22nd I have reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 20 days this month, and 30 times so far this summer. My highest temp occurred on the 14th with a reading of 111ºF. Note my Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Home Weather Station is not mounted above the rooftop of my home. It is mounted in our backyard, 5' 6" above our backyard, which is covered in Bermuda grass.

As of July 22nd the Tatum Climate Co-Op Station has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 13 days this month, and 18 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 14th, and 15th with a reading of 109ºF.

As of July 22nd the Hope Climate Co-Op Station has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 100ºF on 13 days this month, and 19? times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 14th, and 15th with a reading of 106ºF.



As of July 22nd the Cloudcroft Climate Co-Op Station has reached or exceeded daily high temperatures of 80ºF on 11 days this month, and 12 times so far this summer. Their highest temp occurred on the 14th with a reading of 88ºF.

Preliminary climate data reports indicate that 20 New Mexico Climate Stations have either tied their daily record high temps for the date, or exceeded them, 127 times (July 1st -18th). Preliminary reports indicate that the highest temperature recorded so far this month and summer has been the 110ºF at the Roswell Airport on the 11th, and the Carlsbad Airport on the 11th and 14th, and the Carlsbad Climate Co-Op Station on the 14th, and the 15th.

On July 5th, 6th, and 7th the Tucumcari Airport (KTCC) set a new all-time July monthly record of 107ºF. Only to be broken with a reading of 109ºF on the 10th.  The reading of 109ºF on July 10th, 2016 ties their all-time record high temp of 109ºF set on June 27, 2013. 

The Tucumcari Climate Co-Op Station set a new monthly all-time record high temp of 108ºF on the 11th. The previous record was 107ºF set on July 21, 2011. 

On July 10th the San Jon Climate Co-Op Station tied their all-time July monthly high temp of 108ºF last set on July 14, 2009. 

On July 13th the Portales Climate Co-Op Station recorded a high temperature of 109ºF which tied the record high temp for the month of July last set on July 10, 1940. This reading also ties their all-time highest temp recorded last set on June 25, 2011. 

Given the strong upper level ridge of high pressure that has anchored itself over and near the state for the past two months, and the dryness of the atmosphere, 7 daily record low temperatures have been tied or broken in the state at 5 Climate Stations. The coldest daily record low temperature recorded so far (through the 18th of the month) occurred at the Aztec Ruins National Monument Climate Co-Op Station on the 15th with a reading of 41ºF
