Thunderstorms developed first in a line from northeast of Roswell, southward to east of Artesia and Carlsbad Sunday afternoon. It then congealed into a large complex that moved from southeast to northwest across southeastern New Mexico. Additional thunderstorms developed over other parts of the state overnight that continued into this morning. Locally heavy rainfall fell in some locations. My brother recorded 2.30" at his ranch in Lakewood. A personal weather station (PWS) in Lakewood recorded 1.64". An automated weather station in Lakewood recorded 1.44". A personal weather station (PWS) at the KOA Campground in Seven Rivers recorded 1.12". The Carlsbad Airport ASOS recorded 1.00". Here at our home in NW Carlsbad, I recorded .67".
