Why Are My Weather Posts Missing From Facebook.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my Facebook page was shut down without any warning by Facebook this past Saturday, June 8th. All I was told was that I had violated their community standards. I don't know what triggered that; they didn't tell me. I was told this may be permanent or for six months.
My guess is that it may be because I posted several comments and articles from my Substack page about the riots in LA, and that must have triggered/angered someone, and they complained, thus Facebook shut me down. I don't know this as fact, though. I have appealed this decision, and I'm still waiting for their reply. I have read on X that this has happened to other Facebook users posting about the LA riots as well.
I always share my weather blog posts (that I post here) on my Facebook page and my X page. This included over twelve different New Mexico and West Texas Facebook Community sites. So there are thousands of you out there (based on my views and shares of those posts) who will no longer see those posts. My Facebook page may or may not be restored.
This is another good reason (as the National Weather Service often reminds us) to have multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts when severe weather threatens your location. My weather web page is one of those ways, and I really appreciate all of you who have and still do use it. Thank you so much!!!
If my Facebook page is restored, I will continue to share my weather blog posts and some of the NWS Watches and Warnings...as I have been doing for years now.

Series Of Upper Level Storms Over The Next Week.

Our monsoonal upper-level ridge of high pressure was located over the Four-Corners Region this Sunday morning. It will break down by Wednesday as a strong short wave trough of low pressure at the mid-upper levels of the atmosphere drops southward out of the Gulf of Alaska and into the Pacific Northwest.

Southwesterly flow aloft will help keep us high and dry this upcoming week. A typical more fall-like pattern. Without the moisture until late next week maybe. A tropical storm is forecast by some of the models to develop south of the Baja Peninsula and move northward to the southern tip of the peninsula by next Friday. Whether or not its remnant moisture gets pulled northward and northeastward into New Mexico in a week to ten days is still questionable at this time.

Warming Back Up Next Week.

Our high temps across the southeastern plains will be in the 80's today into Tuesday. Wednesday we approach 90 again and by next weekend the upper 90's. Sorry summer hasn't completely given up just yet...it just won't be ridiculously hot.

The Ruidoso area will see the mid 70's today and Monday. Near 80 on Wednesday. And near 80 to the low 80's Thursday into the next weekend. The next real chance for t-storms will be next weekend.

The Cloudcroft area will see the mid 60's today into Tuesday. Then the upper 60's Wednesday and Thursday. Near 70 next Friday into the weekend with another chance for t-storms.How much rain could potentially fall will in part be dependent upon whether or not tropical moisture returns back into the state from the south and southwest.

Gulf Of Mexico May Have A Hurricane This Week.

Tropical Storm/Hurricane Francine
In The Gulf Of Mexico This Upcoming Week?

An area of disturbed weather (AL91) is located in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico this morning. It is forecast to slowly strengthen into a tropical depression in a couple of days and perhaps a tropical storm the first or middle of next week. Forecast models are indicating that hurricane could then develop off of the Texas Gulf Coast

Since the storm hasn't formed into a tropical storm yet the models are struggling with its future track and strength. Thinking as of this Sunday is that AL91 could develop into a hurricane and make landfall generally somewhere between Galveston and New Orleans around this coming Wednesday or Thursday.

Enjoying Our Cool Days & Mornings.

It has been a wonderful past week temperature-wise locally. Not only have our days cooled down significantly so have our morning lows. Here at our home in Carlsbad this morning my low temp was 59. We haven't been in the 50's for morning lows since the 25th of May. Lots of 50's for low temps were reported across the southeastern plains this morning. With 40's across the Sac's.

Cloudcroft has recorded a couple of morning low temps in the 30's recently. The NWS Climate Co-Op Station dropped down to 38 on the 5th of this month and 39 this morning. The normal daily high temp for Cloudcroft on the 8th of Sept is 62 and the normal low is 39. The Ruidoso NWS Climate Co-Op Station dropped down to 42 for a low temp on the 3rd and 4th. Their normal daily high temp for Sept 8th is 76 with a normal low of 46.
