Stranded In Deep Snow 42 Miles From Home.

This one just speaks volumes about our Blizzard. Jackie Heron ended up getting stuck 42 miles from Artesia in the deep snow. He then nearly ran out of gas and became stranded on Curry Comb Rd. The photo is of him in his truck when they finally reached him and started trying to dig him out.

I understand that it took 12 hours to find him and get him home to safety. He was stuck with no extra clothes, no insulin, and the snow was drifting so bad that his tail pipes on his four wheel drive truck plugged up and he could not get them cleared out. So then the inside of his truck started filling up with carbon monoxide.

Sylvia who is Jackie's wife tells the rest of the story:

"It was a long day and night trying to get Travis and Jeramy my angels (also her sons) who tried and tried to get to Jackie before they got stuck in a ditch.
I would have been lost without them. I tried calling 911, tow trucks, and the national guard only to hear they could not help out.
Things were getting pretty desperate with Jackie's situation. Thank god my two brother in laws Rick and Wes got the job done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Travis and Jeramy got stuck in the deep snow twice on County Rd 360 trying to get to him. The second time was in a deep ditch.
When Jeramy and Travis got picked up Jeramy got in the tractor with Rick and showed him how to get to Jackie since he knew the area that Jackie was stuck at.
Finally Sylvia's brother-in-laws and the sons were able to get to him using a big four wheel drive John Deere tractor.
Travis told me that a backhoe followed them in behind the green tractor and that the backhoe had to remove the snow around the pickup.
Rick was out helping rescue people for 24 hours.
