Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms continued to break out across the eastern slopes of the Sacramento, Capitan, and Guadalupé Mountains over the past week. A few of these have become severe over the eastern and southeastern plains with damaging winds. Radar estimated that 2" to 3" of rain fell southwest of Hobbs, west of Monument. Multiple power lines were downed by damaging t-storm winds south of Monument.
