We crossed this years trip into McKittrick Canyon in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park off of our bucket list yesterday. Perfect weather for a hike up into the canyon to go leaf peeping. My photos hardly do justice to the beauty of the canyon and the colors and light contrasts we simply stunning! We were somewhat surprised to see the tarantula. Its a little late in the year for them to be roaming around but I attribute this to warm fall we've experienced so far in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. Hiking up 2.4 miles into the canyon to the Wallace Pratt Cabin was an exercise in endurance for sure but well worth it!
The Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction!
