Iridescent Lenticular Clouds Over Carlsbad, NM Sunday.

Standing lenticular clouds formed early in the morning southwest of Carlsbad and persisted throughout the day into the early evening. These clouds took on a iridescent look at times as did the top two photos I took at 2:32 PM MST. Photo #3 was taken at 5:10 PM and the bottom two were taken at 5:15 PM and 5:20 PM. Too bad there was the burn out effect (white glare) from the sun in the top two shots but the rainbow colors were natural.

The Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction!
