Why Are My Weather Posts Missing From Facebook.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my Facebook page was shut down without any warning by Facebook this past Saturday, June 8th. All I was told was that I had violated their community standards. I don't know what triggered that; they didn't tell me. I was told this may be permanent or for six months.
My guess is that it may be because I posted several comments and articles from my Substack page about the riots in LA, and that must have triggered/angered someone, and they complained, thus Facebook shut me down. I don't know this as fact, though. I have appealed this decision, and I'm still waiting for their reply. I have read on X that this has happened to other Facebook users posting about the LA riots as well.
I always share my weather blog posts (that I post here) on my Facebook page and my X page. This included over twelve different New Mexico and West Texas Facebook Community sites. So there are thousands of you out there (based on my views and shares of those posts) who will no longer see those posts. My Facebook page may or may not be restored.
This is another good reason (as the National Weather Service often reminds us) to have multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts when severe weather threatens your location. My weather web page is one of those ways, and I really appreciate all of you who have and still do use it. Thank you so much!!!
If my Facebook page is restored, I will continue to share my weather blog posts and some of the NWS Watches and Warnings...as I have been doing for years now.

Blast Furnace Weather Today!

Hot - Windy - Dusty Day!

Monday was hot indeed. Here at our home in northwest Carlsbad, I recorded a high temp of 94ºF. The Carlsbad Airport reached 92ºF, Roswell and Artesia Airports 91ºF, and Hobbs 86ºF.
Today's high temps will be similar to yesterday's. A weak Pacific cold front will sweep eastward across New Mexico tonight dropping our temperatures back down into the 80's for the rest of the week.

High Wind Warnings are out for the Guadalupe mountains and Wind Advisories are in effect for the Southeastern Plains and parts of southern New Mexico and West Texas.

West winds are forecast to gust up to around 75 mph in the Guadalupe mountains today. West winds are forecast to gust up to around 50 mph across the lower elevations of the area today.

Blowing Dust & Critically Dangerous Fire Weather Conditions!

Blast furnace weather this afternoon as temps climb up into the 90's, west winds gusting up to around 50 mph, and blowing dust occurs. Localized drops in the visibility down to around zero will occur with the strongest wind gusts this afternoon. Especially near our normally dust-prone locations such as freshly plowed or exposed farmland, fields, open lots, and highway construction sites. Widespread blowing may reduce the visibility below 3-5 miles areawide this afternoon and early evening.

Critically Dangerous Fire Weather Conditions will also be prevalent today. Any wildland, grassland, range, or forest fire will have the ability to rapidly spread and grow in the extreme drought conditions, high temps, single-digit relative humidities, and 50 mph west winds. Please avoid any outdoor activity that involves the use of sparks or flame.

The Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction!
