As is often the case Cloudcroft is one of the wettest locations in the state and thus the case so far this year. Their National Weather Service Climate Co-Op Station reports 18.04" of rain so far this year. They recorded 8.34" during July.
Normal rainfall for Cloudcroft (8,750') in July is 5.53". Their normal year-to-date total is 14.55" through July 31st.
The Cloudcroft CoCoRaHS Station located 0.5 miles north-northwest reports a year-to-date total of 19.46". Their July total was 8.19".
The Sierra Blanca Snotel (10,280') located near Ski Apache west of Ruidoso is reporting 16.20" for the year so far.

Meanwhile down here in hell...the Pecos Valley, as well as the rest of the Southeastern Plains we haven't been so lucky this year. My year-to-date rainfall total here at our home in Carlsbad stands at 2.66". Using the Carlsbad Climate Co-Op Station data (1900-2021) our normal July rainfall is 2.03" and our year-to-date rainfall is 6.09".

Here at our home in Carlsbad, I recorded 25 days in July that had high temps of 100º or higher. Bringing my year-to-date total to 47 days. My data is unofficial but accurate. My Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus sensors are located in my backyard, over Bermuda grass, and 5'6" above the ground.

I haven’t checked my COCORAHS total for year but it has been a very dry and hot July.
