10-Day Temp & Snowfall Forecast For Hobbs.
This mornings run of the European model indicates that the arctic cold front will arrive in southeastern New Mexico next Tuesday morning. According to this models forecast our temperatures will drop down into the 40's Tuesday and Wednesday. By next Thursday our temps take a dive down into the 30's and remain there through the weekend (Sat the 15th & Sunday the 16th). Dropping even further down into the 20's by Monday the 17th. Snow is also in our forecast according to this model with generally 4" to 6" forecast one week from this upcoming weekend (Sat the 15th & Sunday the 16th).
It appears that a strong arctic cold front is headed our way by next Tuesday. Falling temperatures along with gusty northerly winds will make it feel more like winter than the fall all of next week. What is questionable is whether or not we will get as cold, and receive as much, if any snow by the end of next week. As well as into the beginning of the following week as the ECMWF model is forecasting. Looks like our weather will capture our attention next week and beyond.
