Excessive heat will melt the region today and Sunday. In fact, so of us will be close to not only tying or breaking our daily record high temps for the date, but perhaps for the month, and the all-time records. 

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for Chaves County until 8 PM MDT this evening. High temps today could be as 112ºF. The official forecast high for Roswell today is 110ºF. They made it to 108ºF yesterday.

Heat Advisories remain in effect for much of New Mexico today and Sunday. Except for the northern and western mountains, the south-central mountains including the Sacramento mountains, the northeastern plains, and the northwestern corner of the state.
