It was hot yesterday in southeastern New Mexico. High temperatures ranged from 94 at the Carlsbad airport, 94 at the Paduca Raws site near WIPP, 93 here at my home in Carlsbad, 93 at the Roswell airport, 90 at the Artesia airport, 89 in northwest Hobbs, and 87 in Tatum.
Similar readings are anticipated for today. A cold front will move southward through the area late this afternoon and early this evening. Much cooler air will overspread the area behind the front on Friday. Most of us will see highs on Friday in the 70's Strong gusty northerly winds will accompany the frontal passage, with northerly winds gusts up to around 35 mph. We will see our weekend temps climb back up into the 80's. Rain continues to look like a scare commodity.

The elevation and thick mid-high clouds from the NW saving us again. 80F yesterday, 55F low today, but I'm sure the wind will get us later! Looks like your morning humidity came up, for a little while only.
ReplyDeleteI like "smooth sailing ahead", sure beats the weekly cold plunges from upper lows.
