A Few Marginally Severe T-Storms Today Into Tonight.
Our last chance for rain comes this afternoon into tonight. Scattered thunderstorms some severe will develop over much of the eastern and southeastern areas of the state this afternoon continuing into tonight. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts, deadly cloud to ground lightning, locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding will be possible with the stronger storms.
Unbelievable!
Southeastern New Mexico was missed again yesterday and last night. Two large clusters of thunderstorms (Mesoscale Convective Systems/MCS) produced beneficial rainfall to much of the state expect for the far northeastern New Mexico, southeastern New Mexico, and southwestern New Mexico.
We have one more shot at it today and tonight then the tap gets turned off as we heat up. In fact our long range high temp forecasts from Sunday into next week show the southeastern plains climbing up to the century mark and above. No surprise here since we typically (but not always) see our highest temperatures of the year in June.
