Average Daily High/Low Temperatures.  2023 August & Year-To-Date Rainfall Totals. Welcome to the meteorological beginning of the fall (Sept 1st). Although the thermometer vehemently disagrees and says that it is still summer. Long-range model forecasts are bleak as far as cooler temps and rainfall are concerned.  High temps across the southeastern plains and southern valleys will range from close to 100º to a little above for the next week. Chances for rain are zero for the next week.     Highs in the Sacramento mountains will range from the low to mid 70's in the Cloudcroft area to the low to upper 80's in the Ruidoso areas. Chances for rain are also zero.  Rainfall in August varied wildly. Ranging from 5" to 6" in the southern Sacramento mountains, to 2" to 4" in the northern Sacramento mountains. August was our wettest month so far...
