Mother Nature Is Getting Busy.

Severe Thunderstorm Threat Today.

Severe thunderstorms are forecast to break out across northeastern and eastern New Mexico and parts of the Texas Panhandle this afternoon. Large hail, damaging thunderstorm winds gusts in excess of 60 mph, locally heavy rainfall that may produce localized flash flooding, deadly cloud to ground lightning, and even a few tornadoes will all be possible. A few supercell thunderstorms will fire up along and near a stationary frontal boundary that is forecast to drop as far south as the Clovis area this afternoon and evening.

An active week ahead is forecast across much of the Western U.S. as the jet stream dives south and a series of upper level storms sweep across the region. Periods of lowland rains and mountain snows will occur along with much colder temperatures especially from the middle of the upcoming week into next weekend. Montana (And Other Western States) Are Already Feeling The Effects Of The Change.

Cooler & Much Wetter In About A Week?

GFS 10-Day Forecast For Angel Fire, NM.

A long range pattern change is in the making and we should feel the more pronounced effects of this by the end of the upcoming week here in Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas. Severe  thunderstorms will be a possibility from late next week into the weekend along with a possible heavy rain and flash flood threat. Although I have my doubts that by ten days from now Carlsbad will have received 7.50" of rain. Its possible but I'm not willing to bet on that yet.

A lot of questions as to the exact details but what the GFS computer forecast models is picking up on a much much wetter trend for the local area. This due to the approaching cold upper level trough of low pressure to our west and the possibility of a tropical connection from the Eastern Pacific Ocean. This one model forecast even hints at the possibility of high mountain snows across Northern New Mexico next weekend.

Don't get too caught on the exact details just yet but keep in mind that summer is ending and that we are headed towards a more active fall-like pattern.

Very Active In The Tropics.

Tropical Storm Maria Poses The Biggest Threat For Now.

As of  1 PM EDT Tropical Storm Maria was located some 405 miles southeast of the Leeward Islands and continues to move off to the west-northwest at 15 mph. Maria has sustained winds of 90 mph with higher gusts and a central pressure of 994 millibars or 29.36 inches of mercury.

Maria is going to be a big problem for the Leeward Islands and possibly Puerto Rico Tuesday into Thursday. Its bad enough that Hurricane Irma razed those island nations as a Major Hurricane and now it appears that Maria is possibly going to do so also...as a Major Hurricane.

The National Hurricane Centers official forecast (as of 1 PM EDT today) has Maria obtaining Major Hurricane status (Cat 3) by early Wednesday morning. She could move through the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico with sustained winds of 125 mph with gusts near 155 mph Tuesday and Wednesday. This is subject to change of course so please keep up to date with all of the official NHC forecasts via this link

Hurricane Jose - The Drunken Fish Storm.

As of 1 PM EDT Hurricane Jose was located some 355 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina and was moving to the north at 9 mph. She had sustained winds of 90 mph with higher gusts and a central pressure of 967 millibars or 28.56 inches of mercury.

Jose is a bad drunken fish storm...meaning that the Hurricane continues to wobble around in circles and loops well out in the Atlantic east of Cape Hatteras. So the only thing bothered by this crazy storm is the shipping lanes. Hopefully this will not change.

I'm sorry but I'm way past sick and tired of the unrelenting headlines and news stories about Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and now potentially Maria being heralded as a direct result of Climate Change. Oh yea lets not forget the recent Western Forest Fires, the Mexican Earthquake, and the Solar Eclipse. This stuff is just pure absurdity and stupidly as far as I'm concerned. Leave it to the main stream media to "Never Let A Good Crisis Go To Waste" (Rahm Emanuel) to help promote their Far Left Political Agenda.

Actually these Leftist Liberals and Socialists are very clever in coming up with this garbage. If you change the Climate Record books to fit your narrative (which NOAA has done), and keep force feeding the lie of Man Made Global Warming/Climate Change down the masses throats long enough then eventually many of them (but not all) will buy into it. A lot of people are gulliable and lazy. They won't take the time and effort to research the facts to see what is real or not and the Leftist Liberal Political Leaders and Main Stream Media know this and use this as propaganda to control these people.

Time to wake up folks...you have been and still are being lied to!

Hurricanes have been romping across the Atlantic Basin and reeking havoc forever. There is nothing abnormal about this. What is abnormal is what we as humans have done in the past couple hundred of years. And that's populate tropical islands and coastlines with our towns and cities directly in the path of these storms. Bad things happen as a result of this and will continue to do so. Of course I feel sorry for those affected. Yes its horrible that so many have lost their lives, homes, and possessions and I feel for these people.
