Why Are My Weather Posts Missing From Facebook.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my Facebook page was shut down without any warning by Facebook this past Saturday, June 8th. All I was told was that I had violated their community standards. I don't know what triggered that; they didn't tell me. I was told this may be permanent or for six months.
My guess is that it may be because I posted several comments and articles from my Substack page about the riots in LA, and that must have triggered/angered someone, and they complained, thus Facebook shut me down. I don't know this as fact, though. I have appealed this decision, and I'm still waiting for their reply. I have read on X that this has happened to other Facebook users posting about the LA riots as well.
I always share my weather blog posts (that I post here) on my Facebook page and my X page. This included over twelve different New Mexico and West Texas Facebook Community sites. So there are thousands of you out there (based on my views and shares of those posts) who will no longer see those posts. My Facebook page may or may not be restored.
This is another good reason (as the National Weather Service often reminds us) to have multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts when severe weather threatens your location. My weather web page is one of those ways, and I really appreciate all of you who have and still do use it. Thank you so much!!!
If my Facebook page is restored, I will continue to share my weather blog posts and some of the NWS Watches and Warnings...as I have been doing for years now.

Happy New Year! Arctic Invasions To Return Next Week.

Happy New Year everyone! Just a short update to fill you in on what is in store for us beginning Saturday night. Old man winter will be flexing his arctic muscles once again. Our first shot of arctic air is forecast by the models to arrive in southeastern New Mexico this coming Saturday night. Colder air will overspread the area behind the front Sunday into at least the first of next week.

An even colder shot of arctic air is being forecast by the models to invade us by around next Tuesday. Although the models are beginning to attempt to agree on next weeks forecasts, they don't have a good handle on this upcoming stretch of cold weather just yet. Next weeks blast of arctic air has the potential to be significant, and we may see the coldest temps of the season yet with this event.

Take a look at the temperature forecast for Clayton and Roswell as per the GFS model forecasts via the model graphics above. This model run has Clayton dropping down to a low of 5F Tuesday and an afternoon high of around 20F.

This same model drops Roswell down to 18F for a low next Tuesday morning and keeps their temp fairly constant all day long with a high only in the low 20's

Keep in mind that the models struggle with arctic airmasses, and they are really struggling with this one since it is so cold. Temperatures across the Yukon Territories of Northwestern Alaska and Canada have dropped down as low as -40F to -50F the pas few days. Chicken, Alaska dropped down to -58F last week. So this gives us a pretty good indication that this arctic airmass is very cold. Just how cold and for how long will be the question that hopefully gets resolved by the first of next week in the model outputs.
