Why Are My Weather Posts Missing From Facebook.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my Facebook page was shut down without any warning by Facebook this past Saturday, June 8th. All I was told was that I had violated their community standards. I don't know what triggered that; they didn't tell me. I was told this may be permanent or for six months.
My guess is that it may be because I posted several comments and articles from my Substack page about the riots in LA, and that must have triggered/angered someone, and they complained, thus Facebook shut me down. I don't know this as fact, though. I have appealed this decision, and I'm still waiting for their reply. I have read on X that this has happened to other Facebook users posting about the LA riots as well.
I always share my weather blog posts (that I post here) on my Facebook page and my X page. This included over twelve different New Mexico and West Texas Facebook Community sites. So there are thousands of you out there (based on my views and shares of those posts) who will no longer see those posts. My Facebook page may or may not be restored.
This is another good reason (as the National Weather Service often reminds us) to have multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts when severe weather threatens your location. My weather web page is one of those ways, and I really appreciate all of you who have and still do use it. Thank you so much!!!
If my Facebook page is restored, I will continue to share my weather blog posts and some of the NWS Watches and Warnings...as I have been doing for years now.

Scattered T-Storms Some Severe Today & Saturday - Continued Hot And Even Hotter Next Week!

July 2nd, 2023.
Double Rainbow.
Atoka - 4 Miles South Of Artesia, NM.

Widely Scattered To Scattered T-Storms Some Severe.

A mid-level shortwave rounding the top of the mid-upper level ridge of high pressure over the state this afternoon and evening will aide in producing widely scattered to scattered thunderstorms. The strongest storms with the most aerial coverage will be over parts of northeastern and eastern New Mexico. These areas are in the Storm Prediction Centers "Slight Risk Category." The rest of the eastern plains and parts of the southeastern plains are in the "Marginal Risk Category."

Large hail, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts in excess of 58 mph, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and locally heavy rainfall that may produced localized flash flooding are all possible within the mentioned risk areas. A similar setup is forecast for Saturday.

It's Just Going To Get Hotter!

Yet another prolonged heat wave is shaping up over the area and is forecast to continue into the end of next week. Like out heatwave in June where we saw high temperatures of 100º or more for over 15-days, this one shaping up looks similar. In fact last night's 6 PM MDT run of the European (ECMWF) forecast model gets a little crazy next week as far as daily high temps are concerned. But I don't think it's that far off.

Official National Weather Service forecast high temps for the southeastern plains today, Saturday, and Sunday will expected to range from 103º to 106º. Forecast highs for next Monday through Wednesday range from 105º to 106º on Monday, near 108º on Tuesday, and by Wednesday near 110º.

There are variations in the different forecast models forecasted highs for the southeastern plains from today through next week. The Euro (ECMWF) had the highest temps for next the local area for next Tuesday  through Friday. Ranging from 110º to 114º. Don't laugh. Remember Roswell officially topped out at 112º on June 27th to establish their second all-time highest recorded temperature (1893-2023). That reading was only eclipsed by the 114º reading set on the same day in 1994 for their all-time record highest temperature.

The main takeaway is that another prolonged heatwave is upon us and is forecast to last at least into the end of next week if not longer! It's fairly likely that we will once again see our high temps reach or exceed 110º here on the southeastern plains by the middle to end of next week.

The Cloudcroft area is expecting high temps in the upper 70's to near 80º today through next Tuesday. Next Wednesday the low 80's. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible each day from today through next week.

The Ruidoso area is expecting high temps in the mid to upper 80's today through Monday. With highs near 90º Tuesday, and the low 90's by next Wednesday.
