January Ends & February Begins Really Quiet.

Carlsbad, NM.

 Roswell, NM.

Long-range model forecasts indicate that there is absolutely nothing happening with our local weather over the next week to ten days. Boring appears to be the theme. Our latest National Weather Service forecasts for Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, and Hobbs call for high temps in the low 60's today, the upper 60's to near 70 Friday, the low 60's Saturday, the upper 60's Sunday, and the low-mid 70's Monday into next Wednesday.

Valid At 11 AM MST Monday Feb 11, 2013.

GFS Temps At 11 AM MST Mon Feb 11, 2013.

GFS Temp Anomalies At 11 AM MST Mon Feb 11, 2013.

GFS Max Snow Depth At 11 PM MST Mon Feb 11, 2013.

 Carlsbad, NM.

Lets take a trip down fantasy road shall we... because I can't find anything significant in the models worth talking about until around the 11th of February. You just can't put too much stock in one model this far out. Seldom does a forecast like this pan out. But the trend that is being forecast by the GFS model is that down the road winter may make a return to the area. Maybe!

The Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction!
