I don't see much hope for any meaningful rainfall for the local area anytime soon in the long range outlooks. The latest ENSO Advisory calls for Neutral conditions across the Pacific Ocean through the summer. So unless we see a significant change in the current upper air pattern, it looks like the current drought will persist into the early part of the summer.
Short Term Relief Coming?
Both the U.S. GFS, and the European (ECMWF) models are forecasting some precipitation for the area over the next week to ten days. Time will tell if this pans out...hopefully so.
