Seasonably Chilly Nights Ahead 7-Day Rainfall Totals - NOAA's 2025-2026 Winter Outlook.
September 25, 2025.
Meredith, New Hampshire.A cold front will sweep from west to east across the state Friday and Saturday, bringing cooler temps and drier conditions.
A second cold front will move into the state next Monday and Tuesday, and this, along with an upper-level trough of low pressure approaching the region, will cause southwesterly winds ot kick up early next week.
Overall, our daytime highs across the area will remain slightly above to close to normal, while our overnight lows will be seasonably chilly into next week.
Looking way down the road to around Halloween, all three long-range models (GFS, GEM, ECMWF) indicate that a strong Pacific storm will slide into the Desert Southwest. Although it's way too early to try and get specific with any details, the model trends indicate that this storm has the potential to bring wind and snow (higher elevations) to the state.
NOAA's 2025-2026 Winter Outlook has been released, and it's not good news for New Mexico and nearby areas, which are sliding into worsening drought conditions.
