Take a look at the regional temperature map (top) and the regional dew point temperature map (bottom) at 9 AM MST this morning. Nothing unusual about either map but the dew point temperature map shows a clearly identifiable dry line across west Texas. Dew point temps across southeastern New Mexico are in the teens while across south Texas they are in the 60's. Spring can only be around the corner.
Today will certainly feel more spring-like than winter-like. Southwesterly winds will gust up to around 40 mph this afternoon across the local area...with stronger gusts in the mountains. Our afternoon highs are forecast to be in the mid-upper 80's. There may be areas of blowing dust also so watch out for those.
With the drought continuing its stranglehold on the state the fire danger will be very high today!
I've moved some furniture around on my web page this morning. I hope you like the new look.
