Thursday's Weather.

My thermometer is showing 74-degrees at 1:20 pm this afternoon. Just a taste of what most of this week will be like. The exception will be Friday which is forecast to be cooler, with our afternoon highs forecast to be near 60. A cold front will move south into the area Thursday afternoon and evening providing the cooling for Friday. Westerly winds are forecast to kick up ahead of the front on Thursday and this will help to heighten the fire danger across the area.
A Return To Colder Weather Next Week?

I have been keeping an eye on the models concerning next weeks potential return to colder weather for several days now. This mornings European forecast model (ECMWF) drops a strong mid-upper level trough of low pressure into the Great Basin late this weekend into the first of next week. It also drags a very cold airmass southward out of Canada into the heart of the country, along with this trough as early as late this weekend. We very well may see a return to colder and more unsettled weather across the state, and local are next week if this forecast verifies.
