WRF/NAM Temperature Forecast @ 8 PM MDT Friday.

WRF/NAM Temperature Forecast @ 6 AM MDT Saturday.

WRF/NAM Temperature Forecast @ 3 PM Saturday.

Local temperatures have climbed up into the upper 60's to the low 70's across southeastern New Mexico this afternoon. Friday will see our afternoon highs in the low-mid 70's.

Yet another cold front is forecast to arrive in the area tomorrow afternoon - evening. Strong northerly winds will gust up to or over 30 mph with the frontal passage. Colder air will once again overspread the local area. Artesia is now forecast to have a low temp of 34F Saturday morning, and Hobbs 35F.

So some locations in the area may very well see a light frost/freeze.

----------------------------------------------------

A thick deck of low clouds acting like a blanket has kept our low temperatures from falling as low as they could have this morning. My low temp here in Carlsbad has only been 46. These clouds will burn off by noontime, and a beautiful afternoon with highs in the low-mid 70's is forecast for most of  SE NM.
