We don't see ice storms in southeastern New Mexico very often. They can be very dangerous and deadly but at the same time are very beautiful. I took the first photo above yesterday morning at the beach in downtown Carlsbad. Steam fog was forming on the river. The other photos were shot this morning. So far 24 hours of light freezing drizzle, light freezing rain, light sleet, and little bit of light snow has produced only minor icing...hopefully this trend continues today.
