Blistering heat will once again occur across the local area today with our afternoon highs ranging from near 100 in our northern areas, to around 105 across the southern parts of southeastern New Mexico. A cold front will approach from the north late this afternoon and evening, and this front may give some of us a shot at a few thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. An isolated tornado or two may occur over eastern New Mexico with any supercell thunderstorm that forms.
