Although the rodent (Punxsutawney Phil) saw his shadow today on Gobbler's Knob, located in west-central Pennsylvania, winter is not over according to this mornings computer model forecasts. Both the U.S. GFS model and the European (ECMWF) model are forecasting a rather strong winter storm to affect the state next weekend. A trend towards stormier and colder weather appears to be returning in about a week to ten days.

  1. Phil saw *no shadow*, so therefore an early spring...in western PA...unless he's wrong, like 61% of the time. I think the NWS Abq listed this event yesterday, but not quite sure since we're 1500+ miles SW of PA...

Stormy - I hope more than just cold, blustery winds!
