Thunderstorms Today Pose A Threat Of Flash Flooding Over Burn Scar Areas.

Scattered thunderstorms will fire up across the local area today. Some of these may become locally severe and produce large hail and damaging thunderstorm wind gusts. Perhaps of greater concern may be the threat for heavy rainfall that will cause flash flooding over and near the recent burn scar areas. Some of these thunderstorms will be slow movers and will have the potential to dump some very heavy rain in some locations. This will be especially true in the Ruidoso area. I am heading up there today to shoot some pictures and videos.
