NHC Forecast Plots.

An area of low pressure near the Yucatan Peninsula is forecast to continue to slowly strengthen into the weekend. Its very possible that we may be looking at the seasons first Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Invest 96L has a 70% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. If this happens then this tropical storm would be named Debby. How fast Debby strengthens and where she tracks is way up in the air for now. This is easily seen by the Canadian (CMC), European (ECMWF), and the US GFS computer model forecasts above.
