Blog updated at 12:33 PM MDT.
Tuesday was another hot day across SE NM. Our afternoon high temperatures were a few degrees lower than the readings of Monday in most places.
A weak cold front will try and push south into the local area tomorrow. If the front does manage to make it into the Pecos Valley, our daytime temps will drop down into the low-mid 90's tomorrow and Friday. A cluster of thunderstorms may move southward out of northeastern and eastern New Mexico along with the front this evening. I doubt that they will make it into the local area though.
With the stout subtropical upper level ridge meandering around the area late this week into next week, our chances for thunderstorms will remain low. A few storms may pop up over the Sacramento Mountains tomorrow into the weekend. Overall though our chances for rain over most of the area will remain low. We will see our afternoon highs climb right back up to near 100 by Friday, and these readings will continue into at least the first of next week.

Its still possible that an area of thunderstorms may develop into something more interesting later this week, but wind shear is high across that area, so any development will be slow.
